Olivia and Seth Birthday for SPAN

Olivia & Seth D. Celebrate Their Birthdays For SPAN

BIrthday Party GroupOlivia and Seth were celebrating their 33rd birthdays with a backyard BBQ. In lieu of presents, they asked their guest to bring food donations for SPAN. Through the generosity of their friends, Olivia and Seth brought bags of food to SPAN filled with dried pasta, canned vegetables and tuna, pancake mix, and other items.

When asked how they became involved with SPAN, Olivia said, “When we moved to this area last fall, we became involved through the holiday sharing program. This program reminded me that even though Severna Park has many residents with means, there are always families struggling among us. We have been blessed in many ways and we
want to be good stewards of the resources that have been entrusted to us, and we are fortunate that our friends felt moved to be generous. The amazing thing about asking friends to come together to help is that every friend’s small contribution adds up to much more than any of us could do on our own. And a birthday party is a fun way to make a difference”!

A Birthday Celebration with Gifts for SPAN

A Birthday Celebration with Gifts for SPAN

span-birthday-giftsWhen Hannah of Severna Park invited guest to her birthday party, her request for gifts was a little unusual. The 12 year old requested donations for SPAN. When asked why, Hannah replied “I want to help my neighbors in need”. But Hannah’s family is no stranger to helping those in need. When her family moved to Severna Park from Michigan, they immediately became involved with the Winter Relief Program at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church. Thank you!

Chip Linehan’s 60th Birthday Celebration Benefit’s SPAN

60 Food Items Donated to SPAN

birthday celebration benifits spanFriends of Chip Linehan of Berrywood, recently gathered at Adams Ribs to celebrate his 60th birthday. Instead of giving Chip the typical gag gifts often favored for such an event, one of his friends suggested going together and purchasing 60 food items to commemorate Chip’s 60th birthday. That food was then donated to SPAN in Chip’s honor. Many thanks to Chip and his guest for helping our neighbors. Together We Are Making A Difference Everyday!

During the month of May the Bay Area Community Church Nursery and Preschool students learned how to show they love to others by using their hands. Chyloe Cheetham, Preschool Coordinator at Bay Area Community Church, said “what better way, then to show them. We gave them brown paper bags that they could decorate and asked them fill the bags with food to help others”. The Deep Blue Children’s Ministry families collected over 325 lbs of food and $500.00 in monetary donations. This truly captures the children of BACC living their faith out by helping others.
