For his birthday party, Andrew asked his friends for canned goods instead of presents so he could “do his part to help out.” Nancy stated, “We were so impressed with his initiative and generosity, we honored him with a special certificate of achievement. Andrew really shows a “black belt” spirit not only through his dedication to regular physical training but also through his positive attitude and kindness. Chesapeake Bayhawks Scores a Goal for SPAN

bayhawks-spanThe Chesapeake Bayhawks , Smartlink, and Driven have partnered in having  a food drive to benefit SPAN , a local emergency assistance network that provides food and financial assistance to qualified individuals and families; helping them through critical or emergency situations in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

All three businesses are owned by Annapolis native, Brendan Kelly, who believes in being involved in the community and giving back to the causes that are near and dear to his family’s and employees’ hearts. The companies donate tremendously to both local and national organizations all year round.
“At Smartlink we take pride in giving back to the community, not just during the holiday season, but throughout the year,” said Kelly. “SPAN provides substantial support to those in need and we are happy to play a part in helping them towards their mission.”

The three companies delivered collected items from the food drive to SPAN’s Severna Park location on Wednesday, November 27th, before the Thanksgiving holiday.

When her family moved to Severna Park from Michigan, they immediately became involved with the Winter Relief Program at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church. Thank you!

That food was then donated to SPAN in Chip’s honor. Many thanks to Chip and his guest for helping our neighbors. Together We Are Making A Difference Everyday!

During the month of May the Bay Area Community Church Nursery and Preschool students learned how to show they love to others by using their hands. Chyloe Cheetham, Preschool Coordinator at Bay Area Community Church, said “what better way, then to show them. We gave them brown paper bags that they could decorate and asked them fill the bags with food to help others”. The Deep Blue Children’s Ministry families collected over 325 lbs of food and $500.00 in monetary donations. This truly captures the children of BACC living their faith out by helping others.
